The Shiny Charm is an item that'll allow you to increase the spawn rate of shiny Pokemon as you explore Galar by approximately 3 times normal value.

Complete the Pokedex

In order for you to get the Shiny Charm, you will need to complete your Pokedex. This means, capturing all 400 Pokemon, and recording them to the Pokedex!

Talk to the Director in Circhester

Talk to the Director in Circhester

Once you've completed your Pokedex, head to Circhester. Enter the hotel to the left of the fountain, and find the director inside one of the rooms in the hotel. Once he confirms you've completed your Pokedex, he will give you the Shiny Charm.

Shiny Charm's Effects Stack

The Shiny Charm's effects will stack to any of the methods that you are using for Shiny Hunting. This means that it will further increase the chances of spawning shiny Pokemon depending on your method!

Rack up the number of times you've battled a Pokemon to increase the chances of spawning a shiny variant.

Get a Battle Combo Going

Get a Battle Combo by fighting the same species of Pokemon over & over! You must defeat or catch the Pokemon to add it to your combo. Defeating or catching another Pokemon will break your combo, and reset the shiny Pokemon's spawn rate!

You can also get shiny Pokemon by breeding! Leave two Pokemon of different genders and of the same egg group in a nursery to get an egg. When the egg hatches, there is a chance for it to become a shiny!

Using the Masuda Method

Leave two Pokemon in the nursery. The second Pokemon you leave must be of a different gender, of the same egg group, and must be from a game of a different language. The egg these Pokemon breed will have a higher chance of being shiny!

Shiny Pokemon are Pokemon that sport a different color scheme than their normal counterparts. These Pokemon are very rare and are highly sought after by Trainers!

No Bonus Stat Changes

Keep in mind that shiny Pokemon possess cosmetic changes only. These Pokemon do not have bonus stats that improve their performance in battle.

Appears Normal in the Wild

You will not be able to distinguish shiny Pokemon when they spawn in the wild. You will only learn if they are shiny if you approach and start a battle with them!

There Are Shiny-Locked Pokemon

Keep in mind that there are shiny-locked Pokemon. These include your starters, strong-looking Pokemon, and more. This means that will not be shiny once you receive them. However, a shiny version can be spawned via breeding!
