Hop's house can be found to the right of the road. It has a huge front yard with a small garage & Pokemon battle area.

Choose Between Soble, Grookey, or Scorbunny

As your first Starter Pokemon, you'll be given a choice to choose from Fire Type Scorbunny, Water Type Sobble, Grass Type Grookey. Note that you can only pick one out of the 3.

Hop Selects Pokemon That is Weak To Yours

Hop will always choose the starter which is weak to your starter. For example, he choose Scorbunny if your choose Sobble. He'll always choose his Pokemon after you.

Hop Uses 2 Pokemon

In this battle, Hop will challenge you with 2 Pokemon so he has the number advantage. Be sure to use your Pokemon's Type advantage to its fullest to deal extra damage!

Take the Long Way Around

Route 1

This time, some Wooloo are blocking the path you took before. You'll have to go through the tall grass on the right! There are many wild Pokemon here, so we recommend you catch some of them!

Try to Catch a Rookidee

Rookidee

We recommend catching a Rookidee early on, especially if you chose Grookey or Sobble. Raising this Flying-type up will help you during the first grass-type gym!

2. Go Along Route 2 - Tips

Leon will Give You 20 Pokeballs

Travel along this route and catch some new Pokemon! You'll receive 20 Poke Balls from the Champion, so make sure to customize your team.

Get A Chewtle If You Have No Water Type

Chewtle

Chewtle is a new Water-type that evolves into a Water/Rock type. It is a good addition to your team that will help you with the 3rd Fire-Type Gym Leader!

Catch A Magikarp East Of Professor Magnolia's House

Prof Magnolia

There's a fishing spot east of this building where you can catch a Magikarp. This Pokemon evolves at Lv. 20 to Gyarados and is extremely powerful. If you didn't choose Sobble, we highly recommend catching a Magikarp!

2. TM 57 'Payback' Found behind Professor Magnolia's House

TM 57

A TM 57 'Payback" can be found whie traveling across Galar Mine. Be sure to pick this up!

Make sure your Pokemon's levels are high enough to deal with his team! You can raise your level up by battling or capturing Pokemon along Route 2.

If You Chose Grookey, Be Careful of His Rookidee

Hop's Rookidee knows the move Peck, which can deal super effective damage to grass types. Grookey users beware!

Shake Trees To Get Berries

Shake

If you shake certain trees in the Wild Area, you can get some berries! Berries can be used to make Curry, which can give you exp! Make sure to get as many as you can.

Don't Stay Too Long!

At this stage, you can't catch Pokemon above level 25, so it would be better to prioritize getting the Gym Badge instead!

Team Yell Uses Dark Type Pokemon

Team Yell seems to use mostly Dark-type Pokemon, so Fighting and Bug are your best bets for this battle. If you don't have them, try using neutral moves instead.

Use Normal Moves In Battle

Bede

Bede's Team is quite strong and weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost. If you have a Nickit or Zigzagoon you can use them, but if you don't, normal moves will be sufficient. However, make sure you don't use Fighting or Psychic moves.

Challenge Revolves Around Herding Wooloo

Gym Mission

You will now have to complete a few small challenges involving herding Wooloo.

Beat Trainers First

Defeat the trainers before you chase off the Wooloo. If you don't, the Yamper will get in your way.

Bring Pokemon that are Strong Against Grass

The Gym Trainers here use Pokemon like, Oddish, Gossifleur, and Bounsweet, all Grass Pokemon with similar weaknesses. Bring lots of Fire, Flying, or Bug moves!

Gym Leader Milo - How To Beat

Bring A Fire Or Flying Type Pokemon

If you started with Scorbunny, you should have no problem here. If not, we recommend bringing a Corvisquire. Try to have your Pokemon be around level 18-22.

Dynamax On Your First Turn

Scorbunny

We recommend Dynamaxing a Pokemon with a super effective move on turn 1 to quickly take out the Gossifleur and be ready when the Eldegoss enters the stage. Use a STAB super-effective move and you should be able to take it out in 1 or 2 shots.

TM 10 Magical Leaf Given After Beating Milo

After defeating Milo, you will get TM #10, Magical Leaf. This is a grass-type move that never misses!

Wild Pokemon Level Cap Increases to Lv. 25

After you beat Milo, you will be able to catch wild Pokemon up to Lv. 25!
