What Is Operation Delibird?
A Fan Run Operation
Operation Delibird is an annual event where experienced players of Pokemon give out loads of relatively rare or hard to obtain Pokemon via Surprise Trades! This event has been organized and run in games of previous generations as well, and it doesn't seem to be losing steam!
Spreading Joy During The Holidays
The main objective of this campaign is to spread positivity and joy during the holidays, especially to young players who may be receiving Pokemon Sword or Shield as a present on Christmas, so they can have a memorable first playthrough of the game!

Fans have been flocking to Twitter to show their boxes stuffed full of rare Pokemon ready to go out on Christmas Day. Of course any Pokemon would be okay, but it seems people are encouraged to send starters or version exclusive Pokemon!

Breed A Ton Of Pokemon
If you're thinking about participating, make sure to breed a ton of rare Pokemon in preparation! As a bonus, make them hold rare items before you trade them!
Give Out Rare Pokemon
Try to choose a Pokemon which is particularly rare or difficult to obtain early on in the game. If you're feeling particularly generous, consider sending out a Shiny Pokemon!
