Get Iron Ball From Digging Duo
The Iron Ball can be received as part of the rewards when hiring the Digging Duo. You can find them near the Bridge Field Pokemon Daycare / Nursery in the Wild Area.

Each turn with the Digging Duo will cost 500 Watts per brother per try. You'll need plenty of Watts to keep hiring them to help you get the Iron Ball.

Allows Ground-Type Moves To Hit Flying Pokemon
The Iron Ball, when held by a Pokemon, allows Ground-type moves to hit Flying-type Pokemon. This is useful when having Ground Pokemon face any flying or levitating opponents.
Lowers Pokemon Speed
Having a Pokemon hold an Iron Ball will also decrease its Speed, making it possible for enemy Pokemon to attack first. Make sure that your Pokemon with this item isn't a weak match against the Pokemon they're facing.
