Bring Strong Fighting And Fire Types

Although Hop's first five Pokemon are strong, you'll need to look out for his Legendary. It would be best to stop them before they have the chance of setting up.

Tips to Defeat Hop

Recommended Level: 70-75

Hop's team is significantly higher level,and with the presence of a Legendary on his team, he is likely to destroy you if you are not prepared. It is definitely doable at 60-65 with precision and planning, however.

Keep Your Legendary Healthy

Make sure you do not send in a weakened Zacian/Zamazenta into his own. Hop's starter should go down easily against your starter, so try to focus on a strong Fighting type which can take out Snorlax and Wooloo. Switch to a fire type for Corviknight. For Pinchurchin, send out a Ground type.

Burn Zacian/Zamazenta!

Burns will cause the opponent to lose 50% of their Attack, halting their sweep. A move like Will-o-Wisp that is sure to burn is the best.

Bring A Focus Sash

Equipping a Focus Sash on a Pokemon you will use to cripple Zamazenta or Zacian is necessary. Someone who can burn or use Endeavor (makes your opponent's HP equal to yours) is ideal here. Pokemon which learn Endeavor naturally include Swoobat and Reuniclus!

Focus Sash Is In Hammerlocke

The Focus Sash can be found in the house to the left of the middle Pokemon Center in Hammerlocke. You'll have to battle a trainer for it.

Stock Up On Max Revives

In a pinch, you might have to Max Revive your own Zacian/Zamazenta. There's no shame in using these, so stock up and send out a sacrifice while you do so.
