What Is Friendship Level (Happiness)
Hidden Status Representing Bond Between You & Your Pokemon
Friendship Level (also know as Happiness) are a hidden statuses representing the bond between you and that specific Pokemon. This stats can have variety of effects in and outside of combat.
High Friendship Level May Yield Special Effects
Having high Friendship Levels can yield special effects on certain Pokemon and Moves, including unlocking unique Evolution and empowering certain moves.

Having high Friendship Levels with your Pokemon gives you a chance to survive a fatal blow with 1 HP left. High Friendships will also increase the chance of your Pokemon landing critical hits on the enemy.
Increases Chance Of Pokemon Dodging Attacks
Aside from surviving fatal blows and doing critical hits more often, Pokemon with high Friendship Levels can also dodge opponent Pokemon attacks, allowing them to survive the battle longer.
Friendship Level - Pokemon Evolutions
Certain Evolution Requires High Friendship Level
Select Pokemon may only evolve when it has reached a certain high Friendship Level with its trainer. The check the following table for applicable Pokemon!

How To Check Friendship Level
Talk To Checker NPC In Hammerlocke (Purple House)
Visit the purple house next to the Hammerlocke Stadium to find a NPC that can tell your Pokemon's current Friendship Level. Talk to the boy to the right side of the room to check.
Friendship Level - How To Raise Fast & Curry Cooking
Fight Battles Together
You can accumulate Friendship Level by fighting battle together with your Pokemon. Also, enemy Level does not affect the Friendship Level increase rate; therefore farming low level Pokemon is one of the quickest way to gain Friendship Level.

When your Pokemon faints, you will lose a portion of your Friendship Level. Be sure to keep your Pokemon in good condition at the Pokemon Center while farming!

Pokemon's Friendship Level increases faster upon holding an item called the Soothe Bell. The Soothe Bell item obtainable from a NPC in the same house in Hammerlocke where you can have your Pokemon Friendship Level inspected.
Interact With Pokemon In Pokemon Camp
You can also increase your Friendship Level with your Pokemon by interacting with them at the Pokemon Camp. There are variety of activities that you can do to achieve this such as highlighting them on your HUD.

Cooking Curry and feeding your Pokemon in the Pokemon Camp will also be a viable way to increase your Friendship. The higher the rating of your Curry, the higher Friendship level points you'll receive.

A Pokemon caught with a Friend Ball will gain additional Friendship immediately when caught. This can help speed up friendship levels from the start.

After beating the game, players can play Tournament again. When choosing to fight Leon and progress with the fight, a Ball Guy would give the player random items, including rare Pokeballs! Friend Ball may be included in the reward list, so farm the Tournament!
