Do Pokemon Have Elemental Types?

No Elemental Typings

Unlike in the core Pokemon Games, Pokemon Unite does not follow any of the elemental typings for its Pokemon. This makes it so all Pokemon can deal an equal amount of damage to each other.

Applies To Wild Pokemon Too

This lack of elemental typing also applies to the wild Pokemon found across the maps in Pokemon Unite. Players can come up to any wild Pokemon & attack them without worrying about typings.

No Type Advantage / Disadvantage

With no elemental typing, players can go up against any type of Pokemon if they choose to. For example, the water-type Blastoise and the fire-type Charizard will be on equal footing.

Moves With Elemental Strength / Weakness

Moves Have No Element

Pokemon moves or attacks also do not follow any of the traditional elemental typings. This means that all attacks will hit all types of Pokemon regardless of move type.

No Move Immunities

With no move typings and Pokemon typing, there will also be no move immunities in the game. The ghost-type Gengar can be hit with "physical" attacks for example.
