How To Unlock Lost Items
Accept Jeralt's Quest In Chapter 3
To unlock Lost Items, you need to complete Jeralt's quest in Chapter 3. He will ask you to find and return something of his that has gone missing.

Once you've returned Jeralt's lost item to him, you'll unlock this feature of the game. When talking to characters you can choose the "Lost Items" options and give them back their missing possessions.
Returning Lost Items Increases Support Points
Giving characters the correct Lost Items will provide an increase in their Support Level Points towards you.
