The Imperial General in your immediate front will be holding a key that can open the door blocking your way to Edelgard. Focus your attacks on them first in order to immediately get the Door Key.

Once the enemies start pursuing you, Dedue will appear from the top right corner of the map to assist you. He will be able to hold his own since he is a Fortress class going up against physical attacks. However, do not let any magic units get close to him.

Bring Healers To Sustain The Team

Bring Healers To Sustain the Team

It is recommended to deploy at least 2 healers for the fight as there are long range enemies that can whittle down your health if you're not careful. It is advised that these healers should have the Fortify ability in order to heal as many units as they can.
