Best Ways to Level Up Quickly
You Can Only Level Up Enemies in Battle
The only way you can actually level up allies is through battles. You can do this every free day by selecting the Battle from what you can do in that day.
Put Focus on Characters You Want to Level Up
Your characters will only gain experience if they take part or win in battles. Make sure to put characters you want to focus on in the front lines, but make sure to give them back up when needed.
Let Them Deal the Finishing Blow
A large bulk of XP is given to characters who defeat enemies. A great strategy here is to have a stronger character deal most of the damage, then have the other character defeat them.
Take Advantage of Non-Activity Point Battles
When you progress through the story enough, you'll get a chance to do battles in your free time without eating up an activity point. You can check these at the start of your free day.
Get Higher XP Gain by Restoring Cathedral's Statues
Use your Renown in the Saint Statues in the Cathedral to receive additional XP boosts, both for your character and their allies.. You can unlock them easily as long as you've been racking up your renown!

Higher Stats
Every time you level up, you will receive a boost in some of your stats. This will be indicated by a green arrow in your level up screen.
Certain Levels Unlock Certification
When characters reach certain levels, they'll be able to take Certification Exams for their classes. Although your level will not determine whether they will pass or not.
