Chapter 20 picks off where chapter 19 left, with the main characters invading Edelgard's palace. The chapter begins with a cutscene that immediately transitions into battle. Note that you cannot learn new classes or have any opportunity to grind levels in this chapter.

Confrontation at the Palace Tips

Onwards To Edelgard!

Go Through The Center Line and Confront Edelgard!

Edelgard can be immediately confronted by beelining to her and not minding the enemies at the sides. Immediately kill the center general (or Petra if unrecruited) to get a key for the door. Do note that opening the door way may be a potential chokepoint if the enemies in the back and sides are not eliminated first.

Use Archers & Mages!

Ranged Units Are Recommended in this Battle

The palace has a lot of 1 cell walls that favor ranged attackers. Use this to your advantage and bring a lot of ranged units to attack enemies on the other side of the walls!

Dedue Appears!

A Wild Dedue Appears!

In Turn 3, Dedue will appear at the eastern entrance of the throne room. Protecting Dedue is not an objective and getting him killed will not affect the story. Only your heart.
