Unlock Fishing by Completing "Fresh Catch" Side Quest
To be able to fish, you'll need to complete the "Fresh Catch" side quest given by Flayn first. During your first free day, you can go to her in Dining Hall to start it.

Head to the pond in the Monastery and talk to the Fishkeeper found near it. However, make sure that you have bait since you will not be allowed to fish without any bait.
Fishing Doesn't Consume Activity Points
:p;You're free to fish as much as you like since it doesn't consume any of your activity points at all. The only thing that matters here is if you have bait.Check Out How to Get More Activity Points HerePress The A Button When The Fish Shadow Appears
When fishing, press the A button as soon as you see the shadow of a fish appear to hook it. You will be able to see the shadow of the fish appear near your fishing line.
Color of Fish Shadows Shows Rarity
The shadow of the fish gives a clue to what rarity is at the end of your fishing line. Blue means common, while red and yellow means rarer and more valuable ones.
You Can Wait Around for a Rare Fish
You can choose to ignore Blue Shadow fishes and wait for rarer fish to bite instead. Though keep track of how many have nudged the line as ignoring too many will cause your bait to be gone.
Reduce The Fish's Stamina To Catch It
Once you've successfully hooked the fish, you now have to reduce its stamina. Press the A button when the cursor of overlaps with the dark circle in order to lower its stamina. Once the fish's stamina reaches 0, you will be able to catch it.
Excellent Combos Does More Damage
Getting Excellent Combos can easily take down a fish's stamina. The higher the combo, the higher its damage to the fish's stamina.
Fishing Rewards & Bonuses
Increase Professor Level
Fishing will help you increase your Professor Level. Every time you catch a fish, it will give points towards your Professor Level progression.
Fish During Breeding Season
There are times when the pond is experiencing a Breeding Season. You will be able to catch multiple fish using one bait during this time. In order to efficiently raise your professor level, try to fish during the Breeding Season!
How To Get Bait For Fishing
Get Fishing Bait From Shops
You will be able to get fishing bait from the Hospital. You will also be able to purchase bait from the shops in Monastery after clearing a certain quest!
Buy Bait Every Month
The merchant will restock its inventory every month. This means that you will be able to buy tons of bait from the Shops as long as you remember to do it when the calendar shifts to a new month!
Get Bait Around the Monastery
You can also get free bait by exploring and looting the blue sparkles in the Monastery. Baits appear in random so it's not the best way to have a consistent stock of bait.
