Renown can be set in a manner of ways and one of its most useful uses is by spending it on the Statues in the Cathedral. Each Statue will enhance a specific set of your skills! This is unlocked in Chapter 5.

The Statues can be hard to find if you don't know where to look. Head to the northeast corner of the Cathedral and you'll find all four of them in that small nook.

Getting MVP with Byleth also increases the motivation of all applies despite what the article says, though not as much as an individual gets for getting MVP

What the person below said is true. Doing activities does not increase renown neither does MVP. This article should really be changed considering its the top result when you look up how to increase renown.

Hey I appreciate the article but Dining never gives you Renown. And in battles who gets MVP doesn't matter as only battles that require Battle Points will give you renown, and give it regardless of who got MVP.
