Motivation in Fire Emblem: Three Houses will dictate how much you can train an individual ally during a lesson. The higher their motivation is, the more you can enhance their skills.

Can Only Motivate People within Your House

Can Only Motivate People within your House

Only characters within your chosen house can be affected by motivation. You can't motivate or teach characters from another house unless you've recruited them to join yours.

Motivation Plays a Major Part in Lectures

Every Monday, your character will hold a lecture for the students. Here you can instruct them to better their skills, but you can only tutor them a number of times depending on their motivation.

Become an MVP in Battle

When a student is named MVP in a battle, they will receive a boost in their motivation. Sometimes, when your characters becomes MVP, they will inspire and motivate the whole class!

Eating Together

Eating Together

Sharing a meal with students is also a good way of motivating them. Select dishes that they like via a Blue Arrow next to the Character Portraits when selecting a dish.

Praise Them During Training Sessions

Praise Them When They Get a Perfect

Give praise where it is due. Your students will receive additional motivation points if you praise them for getting a perfect during a training session! This will only happen though on their first perfect per session.

Give Allies Good Advise

Give Allies Good Advise

Sometimes your allies will come to you after class to ask for advise. Give them the correct response and it will motivate them!

By Giving Gifts / Lost Items

By Giving Gifts / Lost Items

Giving allies gifts or locating and giving back their lost items will also increase their motivation! This will also enhance the relationship level between you and that character as well.

Resting on Free Days

Resting on Free Days

Resting will replenish the motivation of all members of your house! This is a good way of motivating in bulk, but it doesn't fill up their motivation bars completely
