The Melding Pot is unlocked after reaching specific points in the quest lines. Along with the Melding Pot, you will also unlock the Market where the Melding Pot can be found.
More Options To Craft Will Be Unlocked
As you progress through the story, more types of melding will be unlocked. Different Melding / Alchemy will provide different items and materials and will also use different materials for melding.

2nd Skill And Slots Are Random
Talismans can have a maximum of 2 skills and a maximum of 3 possible slots. Slots and the addition of the 2nd skill are granted randomly, so you may have to make a couple of Talismans in order to get one with the stats that you want.

Select the skill that you want using the 5 different melding options. Each one has its own selection of skills that you can choose from. With Reflecting Pool, Haze, and Moonbow, you can choose a single skill that you want. Although choosing the skill does not guarantee the success of the meld, it does increase its chances of getting picked.
Skills Per Meld Option Is Different
Reflecting Pool, Haze, and Moonbow each have different skills to choose from. However, not all skills are present in these 3. If you want a skill not part of any list, you may have to resort to the Wisp of Mystery option to get it.

When choosing the Reflecting Pool, Haze, and Moonbow options, the "Rate of Earning Skills" or success rate can be seen at the left-side of the screen. If this fails, the Talisman will not come with the chosen skill and instead will be allotted with a weaker Level 1 skill.
2nd Skill & Slots Are Completely Random
You are given the chance to choose the 1st skill when making a talisman. However, The 2nd skill that will be chosen among all skills is random. Talisman slots are also completely random.
Choose The Materials & Points To Meld
In order to meld, a certain number of points must be reached using materials. There is no point in exceeding the limit as extra points will be wasted. Always invest only the exact number of points when melding.
Collect Valuable Materials For Melding
Monster parts can contribute a high number of points when melding. Farming these materials can be advantageous if you plan on crafting multiple Talismans. Try to specifically hunt down monsters that have a good chance of dropping these materials.
All Monsters ListTalismans Are Completed After A Quest
For 1 Talisman to be crafted, you need to finish 1 quest regardless if you fail or succeed. This can be any quest except Expedition Tours. You can line up a maximum of 10 Talismans at a single time.
Use Arena Quests To Pass The Time
If you want to immediately see the results of each meld, you can use Arena battles to pass the time. As the creation of a Talisman is not based on whether you succeed o fail your quest, you can deliberately fail the Arena quests to pass the time.

If you have a specific skill in mind and that skill is part of the choices, go with the first 3 options. On the other hand, if what you want is not part of the selection, choose Wisp of Mystery. For Rebirth, use it only when you have a large reserve of materials as it is quite unreliable with its drops.

Some skills can be found under different melding choices. As an example, in the case above, choose the Reflecting Pool option as it has a lesser chance of failing. Always take note of the chances of success and compare if you find yourself in this predicament.
