What Is The Wirebug?

Bug Used To Traverse The World

The Wirebug is a type of insect that produces a special kind of tough silk! When used, it behaves similarly to a grappling hook, allowing new movement options for hunters when out and about exploring the world!

Traverse Through Different Kinds Of Terrain

The Wirebug will allow you to move through different kinds of terrains. From steep hills, and rocky cliffs, the Wirebug will allow you to move past with ease!

Consumes Wirebug Gauge

When using the Wirebug, you'll need to consume Wirebug gauge displayed on the bottom of your screen. This gauge will refill overtime. Note that some Silkbind Attacks consume 2 gauges at once.

Increase Maximum Gauge

You can expand your Wirebug gauge to a third gauge by picking up a wild Endemic Life Wirebug. Pick it up before the boss battle to use Silkbind attacks frequently.

Great Wirebug

There are also an endemic life called Great Wirebug. Using Great Wirebug on Jewel Lilly allows you to travel much further than a normal Wirebug.

Press hold ZL button to aim and press ZR to quickly leap toward the direction your camera is facing.

Wiredash (Upward)

Use Wirebug to fly upward. Note that you won't fly straight up toward the sky but leap diagonally in front of you.

Jump Attack

You can fly mid-air and follow up with moves above. Use this move to move around freely.

Uses Wirebug to leap forward quickly. The command of Wiredash (Forward) changes when you are in mid-air so practice a bit to get used to it.

Wiredash (Downward)

This move allows you to land on the ground quickly using the Wirebug.

Mid-air Stop

Press hold A while airbone to hang on the Wirebug and stop in mid-air. You can hang on the Wirebug up to 7 seconds. This move does not consume Wirebug gauge but the gauge stops refilling while you performing this move.

Jump Attack

You can dodge while using Mid-air Stop by using the actions above. You can also choose the direction of your movement by tilting L-stick.

Wirefall

Use this move when a monster sends you flying or knocks you back to quickly recover and evade any oncoming attacks. Note that you can't use Wirefall to some monster's attacks.

Each weapon type has 2 different Silkbind attacks. The commands of Silkbind for gunner and non-gunner are different.

Wyvern Riding Guide

Wall Run

Use Wiredash toward the wall to land on it and press the command above to perform a wall run. Your stamina will be consumed while using this move. You'll fall off the wall once your stamina runs out.

Wall Jump

While you're landing on the wall or performing a Wall Run, press the command above to jump off the wall. Use this move to change the direction when you are using Wall Run.

Tips Of Using Wirebug

Use Wiredash To Extend Wall Run

Command
Wall Run ➡ Wiredash (Forward) ➡ Wall Run ➡ Repeat

Since Wall Run consumes your stamina, you can continue using this move until it runs out. However, you can heal your stamina while falling off the wall and use Wiredash to continue climbing the wall. In this way, you can travel much further with Wall Run.

Use Mid-air Stop To Heal Stamina

If you want to travel further with wall run, you can use Mid-air Stop to heal your stamina.

Incorporate With Attacks

The Wirebug will also allow players to incorporate the new movement with different attacks! This will help you approach fights with a new dimension and change up your strategy!
