Talisman Tables - Bug Fix In Update 2.0

This bug where the the same Talismans are produced in the exact same order has been acknowledged as a bug in the game. Capcom announced that this was fixed in Update 2.0!

What Are Talisman Tables?

Wisp Of Mystery Tables You Get Stuck On

Talisman Checker Infographic

Thanks to the mountains of data gathered by many Japanese fans (who were kind enough to let use their data), we've been able to come to the conclusion that there are fixed table loops for what Talismans you can craft using the Melding Pot Wisp of Mystery function. These tables are fixed when you create your save data for the first time.

Just like the above infographic demonstrates, it's possible to start on various branches of this journey, either from some more famous tables (like we've outlined below), or other "nameless" ones. However, what seems to always be the case is that all paths eventually converged into one of three final tables: Wall Runner, Gout, and Sasuke.

Initial Table Is Random

Prior to converging on one of the three main loops, the table you're in initially will be entirely random. If you manage to get a table that yielded good results, then you can consider yourself lucky!

What's With The Names?

All table names originate from the Japanese language (though we've translated them). They emerged largely as a way to describe the most characteristic skills that you can find in that table. They involve putting together parts of each skill name to form a new title.

SkillName Origin
Quick AttackA combination of Quick Sheath and Attack Boost.
Exploit AttackA combination of Exploit Weakness and Attack Boost
Wall RunnerJust the skill Wall Runner
Wide WeaknessA Combination of Wide-Range and Exploit Weakness
SasukeConstitution and Wall-Runner evoke the image of a speedy Ninja, so Japanese users gave the table this rather tongue-in-cheek name.
GoutA play on words in Japanese. Exploit Weakness's old Japanese name included the kanji 痛, while Windproof includes the kanji 風. When you combine these two characters (痛風)you inadvertently get the word for the medical condition Gout. This trended on Japanese Twitter and has since caught on.

Can You Avoid Getting Certain Tables?

Rebirth Has A Different Set Table

From what we've been able to determine via testing, it seems that even if you're stuck with a Gout table for Wisp of Mystery, you will likely have a different table for Rebirth. Players have even reported that they've gotten a Weakness Exploit 2 x 3 slot Talisman from Rebirth, so this might be a possible way out for you.

Other Things You Can Do

Wait For A Fix

As of April 18th we have not found any other ways of getting out of your Gout table. That being said, the game's official Twitter has made a post about fixing Talisman-related bugs, so it's quite possible that this issue is on their radar!

Not Recommended - Start A New File

We've found that your table data is determined when you create a new save file. So, it's entirely possible for you to just create a new file to get another chance at a table. That being said, you might get the same table again regardless! This is currently not recommended, as a fix might be implemented soon.

Regarding Test Data

Kusurizuke no Haido (Sasuke Table)

Translation: "This file documents the over 1500 Wisp of Mystery Meldings I did (just like the PDF I shared previously). Also, I went and did 500 Rebirths and Moonbows as well. I managed to get a Constitution 2 Pierce 1 3 slot Talisman from a Rebirth Melding."

Twitter user Kusurizuke no Haido documented a very thorough series of tests on Moonbow, Rebirth, and Wisp of Mystery Meldings. We've used part of his data to create this tool! The spreadsheet is entirely in Japanese, but feel free to check it out anyway!

Mr. F (Gout Table)

Translation: "Sorry to keep you waiting - here is my Gout Loop spreadsheet. If you see any typos or mistakes please let me know. Also, I'm still quite new to using spreadsheets, so if you have any advice please let me know!

Mr. F from Twitter was kind enough to provide us with data regarding Wisp of Mystery and Rebirth Meldings. This tool couldn't have been without the help of these two individuals!

"This is all useless anyway as it will be fixed by the 2.0 patch"

They may just patch the loop bug. But they could still retain the table system all together so there's no ***urance v2 will patch everything.

The website gives you a way to check your table, explained how it works, and even has a tutorial on how to use it.

AND YOU STILL ASK WHICH TABLE YOU ARE ON?

This is all useless anyway as it will be fixed by the 2.0 patch
