How To Build 2 Story Base
- Build Foundation Part Of The Base
- Build 2-3 Walls Around The Stairs
- Extend 4 Or More Stairs Starting From The Wall
- Build The Floor For The 2nd Floor
- Add 3rd Floor Or Build Wall And Customize It To Your Liking
First, build the foundation part of the base. 13x13 is the largest square size that can fit inside the base area.
Build walls to support the stairs and make the stairs 2 or 3 blocks wide so it's easier for the Pals to use them. Any more than 4 blocks wide will take up too much space in the base, so don't forget about the other structures when building stairs.
Extend the stairs from the wall you've built in step 2. If the stairs are too short, bigger Pals could get stuck so connecting at least 4 stairs is recommended. Also, the wall you built in step 2 can be disassembled once you build the stairs.
You must add support if you want to extend the stairs even more.
Build the 2nd floor. As you cannot build a floor in the air you will have to use a roof as the floor.
Once you've completed building the floors, you can add another floor by repeating step 1 or build a wall around it and customize the base to your own style. You can also make the foundation cylindrical, or use a roof instead of stairs.
Recommended Structure For Each Floor
What To Build In Each Floor
Floor Near From Palbox | - Workbench (Assembly Line) - Kindling - Ranch Structures - Farm Structures - Generators - Chests |
Floor Far From Palbox | - Bed For Player - Chest for Storing - Structure With A Passive Skills |
Location Pals Cannot Go | - Pal Beds |
Pick Floor With Palbox As Work Floor
Pals will spawn near the Palbox when the game starts and when the Pal is taken out from the Palbox. Placing the working stations near the Palbox will reduce the traveling distance, prevent Pals from getting stuck, and increase work efficiency.
Structures That Don't Need Pals Can Be Placed On Different Floor
Structures which don't require Pals to work such as the Player's living space and structures that increase work efficiency can be placed at the 2nd, 3rd floor or rooftop.
Close Route To Palbed
Palbeds will be effective once it is placed in the base, so placing Pal Beds in a location where Pals can't access will make Pals sleep whereever they are and reduce the time to move to and from the bed.
Prevent Pals From Getting Stuck
Important To Make A Clear Path
Pals spawn, work and eat so build your base with that in mind. Make it as big and simple as possible so that Pals don't have any trouble moving around.
Cannot Completely Prevent Pals From Getting Stuck
Pals passing through walls and other unintended bugs make it hard to completely prevent Pals from getting stuck. However since Palworld is still in early access, there is a chance they will fix it in a future update.
