What Is Stairway To Heaven?
Defeat Bosses Using Fall Damage
The Stairway to Heaven is a strategy that uses fall damage by destroying stairs underneath a Pal. You can change the height of the stairs to adjust how much HP you deal to capture or beat tough Alpha Pals like Jetragon and Frostallion.

Building The Foundation And Stairs
To begin building, look for Jetragon's icon on the map near the coast and you should find an Ore deposit nearby. The land is flat from there to the tall mountain, making it easy to lay the foundation. You can proceed building some stairs after placing the foundation.

For reference, 14 stairs were used in the video. Jetragon tends to attack from a distance, but if you dodge them for a bit and make it charge at you, you can easily make it climb the stairs. If you just build the stairs without the platform at the top, it can fall down from the stairs before reaching the top while it charges at you.
How To Build Stairway To Heaven
- Prepare Wood and Stone
- Build the foundation close to the boss
- Build stairs above the foundation
- Keep building more stairs
- Add a roof at the top
Bring around 300 pieces of material to build the foundation and stairs. Wood also works, but use Stone material for bosses like Jetragon that use fire attacks.
Foundations are necessary to connect the stairs above it. You can't build if you're too close to the boss, but you also won't be able to bring the boss outside its territory. Therefore, choose a flat area that is close to the boss as possible where it still allows you to build the stairs.
To connect the stairs, it is required to start building the stairs in front of the foundation. It may not allow you to build there when it overlaps with the player, so try building it from the side or at an angle. Also not that we did not count this first piece of stairs towards the total number of stairs built.
How To Build StairsConnecting the first set of stairs might be a bit tricky, so move back and forth until you find a spot where you can build it. After connecting the first one, doing the rest should be easy.
Constructing only the stairs may make the boss fall before reaching the top, or it may just stop midway. You can prevent that by building at least three blocks of floors at the top.
How To Use Stairway To Heaven

- Attack the Boss with a handgun or similar weapon

You will need a glider to prevent taking fall damage yourself, and a Ridable Pal to lead the Boss to the stairs while avoiding its attacks. Any glider is fine, but for the ridable Pal you want the fastest one you can find.
Best Mount & Ride Pal ListThe weapon type does not necessarily matter, but using something like a handgun or any other ranged weapon that can let you attack from a safe distance makes it easier to lure the Boss. You can also use your weapon to deal additional damage to make it easier to capture or defeat it.
Take note that the Boss might return to its original position if you move too far away from it. Keep a good distance to provoke charging attacks and make the Boss climb the stairs.
The right timing to dismantle is when the Boss reaches the top floor. Dismantling the stairs at the very top will deal more damage and it will be easier to reuse the stairs again later.
The Boss will drop straight down, even if it's a Flying Pal, and it will deal a huge amount of damage if everything goes right. Always use your Glider to avoid falling and taking damage as well. Then, use your Weapons or Pals to lower the Boss's health as much as possible and throw a Sphere to capture it.
What If It Does Not Work?
Adjust Damage To Player Multiplier In The World Settings
The fall damage that the boss receives is determined by the damage multiplier of the Player. Please note that in casual settings and similar situations where players take less damage, the boss's fall damage is also significantly reduced.
Adjust The Number Of Stairs
The fall damage can vary significantly. When the damage multiplier is set to 1x, having just 1 more set of stairs may inflict around 1,000 more damage. If you aim to catch Jetragon, use 13-14 staircase steps. However, if your goal is to defeat it, add more steps. For other bosses, consider using fewer steps.
