Buildings Outside The Base Range Deteriorate
The building structures will deteriorate over time if it is constructed outside the base range (blue line). In this state, the structure will sustain continuous damage and eventually be destroyed, so keep this in mind when placing a Palbox later on.

Even if a portion protrudes beyond the base range as shown in the image, no deterioration damage will occur as long as the center of the building fits within the base.

The Structure Deterioration Rate in World Settings is set to 1x (default), with deterioration damage occurring once every 25 seconds. Since deterioration damage isn't visible, it's advisable to have Repair Kits available if you're concerned about durability.

During each deterioration, foundational structures such as walls, ground platforms, and furniture receive 2 points of damage, while fixtures such as lighting suffer 1 point of damage. The damage ratio for buildings in the World Settings represents the actual damage inflicted over time.

In World Settings, the "building degradation speed multiplier" can be set to a minimum of 0. The structure decay rate will cease to occur even when constructing outside the base when this setting is adjusted to 0. However, take note that damage from attacks from base raids and such cannot be prevented.

An often-seen mistake occurs when the center of the ground platform is within the base, yet the walls placed on top deteriorate. While it's permissible to construct while confirming warnings of deterioration, it's easier to create a base that won't deteriorate by installing defensive walls along the blue line around the perimeter beforehand.
