Wrong Work Suitability
Place Pals At Work Station With Appropriate Work Suitability
Each Pal has to have the appropriate Work Suitability to work. You can check each Pal's work suitability from the status menu so make sure to place Pals with the necessary work suitability in the base.
Some Ores Can't Be Mined With Low Suitability Level

Depending on the Work Suitability level some ores can't be mined. Pals with Mining Suitability Level 3 or higher can mine every type of ore.
Pal Is Stuck Somewhere
Put Back In Palbox Than Back On Base
You can save Pals that got stuck by putting them in the Palbox and then back out again. Pals that are stuck cannot consume food, so make sure to move your Pals that are stuck as soon as you find them.
Build A Base That Doesn't Get Pals Stuck
Depending on the structure of the base, Pals will get stuck in certain locations. Putting Pals in the Palbox and back out again won't prevent it from happening again, so it is important to build a base where Pals don't get stuck so easily.

Give Appropriate Amount Of Food
If you do not give enough food and Pals become hungry, it will reduce their Sanity. Pals with low sanity will start slacking, and it could also lead to injuries and sickness, so make sure to have enough food to feed all the Pals.

Placing Pal Beds and Hot Springs in the base will enable Pals to recover Sanity automatically. Pal Beds and Hot Springs should be the highest priority, if you're starting to build a base.

Assign Pal Directly To Designated Work
Pals with multiple work suitabilities might not do the work that you want them to. In that case, pick up the Pal and throw them at the intended work place to assign them there.
Using Pals With Few Work Suitabilities
Pal with less work suitabilities will have a higher chance of doing what they were meant to do. Having more work suitabilities is not always good and in many cases, it is more useful to have Pals with only one or two work suitabilities.

Each work has a different priority level, and Pals with multiple Work Suitabilities will work according to that. If there are tasks that have high priority, other tasks may be postponed until all the high priority tasks are done, so you will have to work around it by carefully choosing what to build and which Pals to put in your base.
Work Priority List
Within all the work suitabilities, Farming will have the highest priority. Then Kindling, then generating electricity etc. Each task has a different priority. If there are 2 tasks of the same priority, Pals will go to whichever is closer to them.
