How To Craft Stairs

First Unlock Structure Set

First you will have to unlock the Structure set. Once the player has reached level 2, unlock the Wooden Structure Set.

Obtain Materials

Stairs and buildings require materials, so first start collecting. If you're building is within the base materials stored in wooden chests will be used so you don't need material in the inventory.

Select Stairs From Menu

Building Menu can be accessed by pressing "B" key on the Keyboard or pressing "Up" on Dpad. Select "Structure" then pick the stairs you want to build.

Move Around And Choose Location To Build

After selecting, move around to choose the ideal location to place it. You can freely walk around, but stairs have to connect to the building. If you can't build at the ideal location you can start by building Wall and Foundation to connect them.

Once you've chosen the location, left-click on the mouse or press X on the controller to confirm. If you are in a location that prevents building stairs, put your cursor on the green part of the Foundation to build it easier.

Why You Can't Build Stairs

There Is No Connection For Stairs

For example, if you're building stairs to the second floor, you will need to have the roof and wall built. Once you have a connection built, you will be able to place stairs.

Disassemble Unwanted Parts Later

Open Building Menu then press C key (RS, R3 Button) switches to disassemble mode. Once it is built, you can disassemble unwanted parts from the building connection to the stairs.

Not Enough Foundation (Support)

Stairs cannot be built if the building doesn't have enough foundation. Stairs and foundation don't have to have a direct connection but, if you cannot place stairs due to "Not Enough Support", try placing the foundation at the location you want to build.

Overlaps With Other Object

If the building overlaps with other buildings, item or character, it cannot be placed. Make sure to remove all the items left on the ground and build so that each object doesn't overlap.

Adjusting Viewing Angle Could Enable

Even when building at the same location, depending on your cursor there is a chance you cannot build. If the structure cannot be built even if all the requirement is met, adjust your cursor and location to check the location if it is ideal for building.

Tips On Building Stairs And Examples

Slanted Roof Can Be Used As Stairs

Slanted roofs can be used like stairs and it is smooth, making it less likely for Pals and players to get stuck.

Adjust Height And Width To Prevent Being Stuck

If you want to build to prevent Pals from getting stuck, you will have to build 2in width and 4in height. If the size of Pals are around the size of Anubis, the possibility of getting stuck will be reduced drastically.

Cannot Prevent Boss And Lucky Pals From Getting Stuck

Pals with large bodies like Boss and Lucky Pals have a high chance of getting stuck. These pals will get stuck even if you provide them with enough height and width, so they are not recommended for the Base.

Technique To Deal Fall Damage To Enemies

With a method called Stairway to Heaven, you can deal fall damage to the enemy. Very useful even against some of the strongest Pals such as Jetragon and Frostallion, so it is very useful if you want to farm these Pals quickly.

Spiral Staircase

Spiral Staircase will have 3x3 layout and is recommended to show uniqueness to the stairs. Center of the staircase can be used as a pillar.

How To Build Spiral Staircase

Spiral stairs can be built by repeatedly placing stairs and foundations to connect. Build a wall or pillar first, then you can easily craft a spiral staircase by repeatedly placing the roof over the stairs.

Z Shape Stairs

Z-shaped stairs can be built within a 2x3 grid so can be built in smaller spaces and recommended to add a pattern to your building.

How To Build Z Shape Stairs

Z-shaped stairs can be built by placing 2 foundations and then building stairs to connect them. Since you start building from the roof, it's best if you build the wall first also.

Pile Up Wooden Benches

Wooden Benches, which can be unlocked from the Wooden Living Room Furniture Set, can be piled up to be used as stairs. It is not built around the grid, so Wooden Bench stairs are steeper so be careful.

How To Build Wooden Bench

Slightly moving Wooden Bench while piling and building towards the roof. You can also twist to make it into spiral stairs. Placing stairs right next to it will make the work easier.
