How To Make Defensive Wall

Build Base Foundation

First you want to make the foundation of the base. If you want to make it into a circle, we recommend making the diameter 15 pieces long and 7 pieces long on 4 sides. If you already have a Base, then leave it as is and skip to the next step.

Best Base Locations

Build A Gate

Choose where you want to build your gate and place it there. If you place the gate right inside the edge of the base perimeter, it will make it easy to create a whole circle around the base.

Build the Gate and Walls directly on the ground

Create the Gate and Defensive Walls directly on the ground. If you build it on the foundation, when you get attacked by Raids and the platform breaks then the wall will also break, making your base vulnerable.

Build 3 Defensive Walls As A Reference Point

Build 3 Defensive Walls directly in line with the Palbox (center of the base) to use as a reference point. If you place the Defensive Walls in a different location, there will be gaps when you try to connect them so be careful.

Use The Reference Points To Build A Circle Wall

Use the Defensive Walls that you placed in Step 3 as your guide and start building defensive walls to connect them to create a circle. If you end up with 13 walls between the reference points and 12 walls between the gate and the other 2 walls there should be no gaps.

Set The Walls So They Overlap

When you are building the defensive walls, you want to make them overlap a little with the one next to it.

Surround The Base With A Circle Wall

Now you should have all the walls completely surrounding your base. You can attach Defensive Walls vertically as well so you can protect your upper floors of the base as well.

Reasons Wall Breaks & How To Fix

Deterioration and Raids

Durability decreases when the structures deteriorate over time and when enemies attack during raids. If your wall seems to be taking damage even if you're not being attacked then you want to check if all your walls are built within your base.

Deterioration And Raid Setting Can Be Turned Off

If you don't want the structure's durability to decrease then from the World Setting screen you can change the Structure Deterioation Rate to zero and turn off Enable Raid Events. This will disable all deterioration and raids.

Disassemble and Rebuild To Repair Walls

If Defensive Walls lose durability and you want them repaired, you will need to disassemble and rebuild them again. If the walls are vertically attached, breaking one wall won't affect the other walls so you don't have to worry about breaking the other walls when you want to rebuild just part of it.

Cannot Use Repair Kit

The Repair Kit, which can repair structure's durability, can not fix defensive walls.

Defensive Wall	20,000
Stone Gate	20,000
Metal Defensive Wall	50,000
Iron Gate	50,000

The durability of Defensive Walls and Gates depends on what materials you use. Metal Defensive Walls and Gates will be 10x more durable than Wooden Walls and Gates. So if you are planning to make your base stronger, then you want to make metal walls and gates.

Advantages Of Walls & Tips

Can Protect Base From Raids

By surrounding the base with defensive walls, you can avoid getting attacked by raids. The attackers will leave after some time if they can't go through the defensive walls. So if you surround your base with defensive walls then you can avoid getting attacked and safely work in your base.

Walls Can Get Pals Stuck

When you set up Defensive Walls, Pals might be able to go through the walls or they might get stuck between the walls. If you leave them like that, they will not be able to eat and starve so pick them up and return them back to their working space.

Place Working Stations Away From Defensive Walls

To avoid Pals getting near the Defensive Walls, you can place walls between the work spaces and the outer defensive walls or place the structures away from the defensive walls.

Can't Avoid Being Stuck 100%

Even if you place structures to avoid getting Pals stuck, you can not 100% avoid this situation. Palworld is currently in Early Access so hopefully this will be fixed in future updates.
