By setting up a Hanging Trap and a Campfire, you can use it to trap the Merchant and deplete it's HP without having to take damage from its attacks, this way it will be easier to capture the merchant with a Sphere. Those interested in trapping the merchant should definitely give it a shot.

How To Capture Humans
  1. Prepare Hanging Trap and Campfire.
  2. Go to the location of the merchant you prefer.
  3. Use the Hanging Trap on the merchant.
  4. Set up a Campfire beneath the trap.
└You can also attack the merchant directly with your weapon to deplete its HP.

Go to the location of the merchant

When preparations such as Spheres and traps are ready, head to the location of your preferred merchant.

Use The Hanging Trap On The Merchant
Use the hanging trap

When you reach the merchant's location, set up the Hanging Trap at the very edge of the merchant's position and attempt to trap the merchant. If unsuccessful, dismantle and retry until successful.

Set Up A Campfire Beneath The Trap
set up campfire

By carefully placing the Campfire right at the edge of your feet, the merchant will begin to take damage from the flames. Now, patiently wait until their HP is almost depleted.

Throw A Sphere When The HP Is At Its Limit
throw a sphere

When the HP is on the verge, start throwing spheres. However, if the spheres are being repelled and the merchant keeps on escaping, it's evident that the sphere's performance is insufficient. In such cases, wait until you can craft a higher quality sphere before attempting the challenge again.

Continue Throwing Until It Is Caught And It Is Successfully Captured

Red, blue, and green merchants are easier to catch compared to the Black Marketeer, but even with the highest quality, the Legendary Sphere, the capture rate of the Black Marketeer remains low. Be patient and continue throwing spheres until you succeed in capturing it.

You Can Purchase Items At The Base When You Capture A Merchant

It Will Respawn Once You Return To The Menu Title

It Respawns Once You Return To The Menu Title

In Palworld, the Black Marketeer respawns instantly just by returning to the title. Even if the Merchant is not at their usual location or has been defeated, you can respawn them by returning to the title, so there is no need to worry about the Merchant's respawn time.

Reset By Moving Away A Bit If It Doesn't Respawn

If the merchant does not respawn even after resetting, try moving to a slightly different location before returning to the title. Upon re-entering the world and heading back to the merchant, they may have respawned.

Consider Choosing The Green Merchant To Capture For Base Trading

Choosing the Green merchant

Capture green and red merchants so you can trade at the base anytime Especially recommended, is the green merchant sells ammunition. Bullets are consumable ammunition for weapons and often necessitate a substantial quantity. However, as it involves three processes like harvesting stone → material processing → ammunition processing— it is quicker to purchase them.

In And Out Of The Palbox As Needed

Humans, including merchants, typically have lower Work Suitability. Instead of keeping them stationed at the base at all times, it is more practical to manage them inside the Palbox and take them in and out of the as required.

Other Merchants Are Not Enough To Be Resident

The Blue and Black Marketeers, who offer Pals for purchase, become unnecessary once the required Pal has been acquired. Additionally, the usefulness of the Red Merchant extends only until the construction of the base's production line.
