Sleep On The Bed To Skip Night Time
You can skip time until morning by sleeping on the bed. You will need a structure that has a roof to craft a bed so first build a small house using a foundation, walls and a roof.
Beds Don't Need To Be In A Base
You can also build beds outside of your base. If you want to sleep while you're outside exploring, you can make a simple structure and a bed to skip time.
Everyone Needs To Sleep In Multiplayer
If you want to skip nighttime in multiplayer, every player needs to sleep in a bed. If even one player is awake, you will have to wait for time to pass normally.
Equip Cold Resistant Armor
The temperature drops at night so in some regions you will start to lose HP because of the cold. You can avoid this by equipping cold resistant armor, so have those ready by crafting them.

Using Fire To Stay Warm
If you are close to any source of heat like a Campfire, you won't lose HP even in cold environments. If you don't have any armor to protect you from the cold, you can wait near something warm until the night passes.
Use A Torch If You Need Light
You will be able to see better in the dark if you have a torch. It also protects you from the cold, so it will be useful to have when exploring at night.

Speed Up Time From World Settings
You can change the time speed from the World Settings. If you don't like waiting for time to pass in the night, you can speed up the time settings.
Increase Brightness From Option Menu
You will be able to see better when it's dark if you increase the brightness in the Graphics tab from the Options menu. But it will make it harder to see in daylight if you increase it too much.
Craft A Hip Lantern
A Hip Lantern will light up the area around you automatically once you craft it. It comes in handy not just at night but also in dark caves.

What You Can Do At Night
Nocturnal Pals Spawn
Nocturnal Pals will spawn during the night. If you want to catch new Pals, you should also explore during the night.
Easy To Find Items And Pals That Glow
Anything that emits light such as the Great Eagle Statue, Lifmunk Effigy, treasure chests and even some Pals can be easily spotted during nighttime. They can be found from quite a distance in the dark.
Defeat Or Catch Sleeping Pals With Fire
You can deal damage to a sleeping Pal without waking it up by burning wood right next to it. This way you can defeat or capture higher level Pals easily. You won't be able to collect any loot if only the fire deals damage to the Pal, so make sure to attack it at least once.
Wooden Defensive Wall Works Best
The Wooden Defensive Wall can withstand lots of damage with 20k health so it is very useful. Each wall you build has its own health so you can speed things up by building multiple walls.
Other Tips
Losing HP In The Cold
The temperature drops during the night so you may start to take damage in some areas. You will continue to lose HP when you are too cold, so you will need cold resistant armor or some source of heat when you explore these regions.
Hard To Navigate In The Dark
It will be harder to see during the night. Many items and Pals will be difficult to spot and you won't be able to see where you're going, so it's better to explore during the day.
Pals Stop Working
Pals will go to sleep at night unless they are nocturnal Pals. They will also stop working while they sleep so if you want them to keep going, sleep in a bed to skip until the morning.
