Best Area To Make First Base
Near the Waterfall, North of Plateau of Beginnings

When you first start the game, we recommend building your base at the flats near the waterfall which is North of the Plateau of Beginnings. It has all you need to start including Paldium Fragments and Ore.
Best Place For Gathering Ore
Gather From Ore Mining Site

 Ore Mining Site II | - Player Level 31 - 3 Ancient Technology Points - Stone x100 - Ingot ×50 - Paldium Fragment ×40 |
Once you get to Level 15, you can unlock the Ore Mining Site in the Ancient Technology Tree to gather Ore at your base regardless of where your base is. At that point you can build your base where you like. But until then, you can build a base in the locations listed below.
Ore Base - How to Automatic Farm
Flats South West of Small Settlement

There is an area with a lot of Ore deposits southwest of the Small Settlement. There are 8 Ore deposits so it's great for gathering Ore. The enemies are not strong here so it is recommended for establishing your second base.
Behind Desolate Church

You can also find Ore deposits behind the Desolate Church. The whole area isn't flat so you will need to construct some floors depending on what you want to do here, but it's a good spot to gather Ore early in the game.

Best Place For Gathering Coal
East of Sealed Realm of the Guardian

A great place for gathering Coal is on top of a cliff, east of the the Sealed Realm of the Guardian. There are plenty of materials here, 6 Coal deposits and 8 Ore deposits. You can gather lots of materials here so it is a great spot to move your base to. However the enemies here are quite strong, so consider moving here later in the game.
Best Place For Gathering Sulfur
North West of Eternal Pyre Tower

A great place for gathering Sulfur is at the North West of Eternal Pyre Tower. This area is recommended if you want Sulfur, but you can find Sulfur right in front of you by fast-traveling to "Eternal Pyre Tower", so a base won't be necessary if you don't mind coming here for a Sulfur run when needed. You can also just buy ammo from Green Merchants if you farm money.
Best Place For Gathering Pure Quartz
South of Land of Absolute Zero

The first area we can recommend for gathering Pure Quartz is at the south of Land of Absolute Zero. The advantage is there are 8 Pure Quartz deposits and 2 Ore deposits here. But the enemies here are high level, so if you want to build a base here, it should be your third base. Also, the temperature is low so you will need armor to protect you from the cold.
North of PAL Genetic Research Unit

This is another area suitable for a base to gather Pure Quartz, at the north of PAL Genetic Research Unit. In addition to the Pure Quartz, you can also find Skill Fruits, wood, Ore and even a dungeon.
Best Place For Breeding Base
West of Azurobe Hill

The first place we recommend for a Breeding Base is located west of Azurobe Hill. You will have a lot of space here for many buildings.
West of Sea Breeze Archipelago Reef

The second location recommended for the Breeding Base is west of Sea Breeze Archipelago Reef. There are not much slopes, making it easy to build. Also you can gather Ore and other resources nearby.
West of Rayne Syndicate Tower

The third location for the Breeding Base is on the cliff, west of Rayne Syndicate Tower. There are no slopes or rigidy locations and if you set the base in the middle then there are no trees. The enemies nearby are lower levels so it is a great spot for beginner players as well.
Max Number Of Bases And Disassembling
Build Up To 3 Bases
The max number of bases you can have is 3. Your base can be used as a fast-travel point, so we recommend building your base in areas far from any fast-travel points and has enough resources.
Build A Palbox To Set Up Your Base

Once you build a Palbox, that area automatically becomes your base. You can only place a Palbox on a flat surface, so look for somewhere flat if you can't place it.

Level Up To Increase Number Of Bases

The number of bases you can build depends on your Player Level, so you need to play until you are Level 14 to build 3 bases. Once your limit increases, place a Palbox in one of the recommended areas!
Disassemble If The Base Limit Is Reached
If the base limit is maxed out, you will have to disassemble one to build a new one. You can disassemble the base by disassembling the Palbox or selecting "Dismantle the base" on the map.
Structures Will Remain After Disassembling
The structures will remain even after dismantling the base. Items inside the chest will remain, so make sure to move all of the items to the new base.
Tips For Choosing Base Location
Flat & Large Area
A lot of structures require flat ground. Some structures are large so it is recommended to build the base on a flat and large open area.

Rich Resources
Pals will automatically gather resources that are inside the base area. Having a base near a resource-rich location will make material gathering much easier.
Move Base After Building Ore Mining Site
You may need to build a base to gather Ore from Ore deposits early in the game, but once you have an Ore Mining Site you can move your base to prioritize other resources such as Coal and Sulfur.
Can Be Used As Fast Travel Point
A base can be used as a Fast Travel point, so building a base to reduce your traveling distance is also an option. Build a base at a location that is far away from a Great Eagle Statue or in an area that you visit often.
