Savage Deviljho Overview

A returning subspecies monster, the Savage Deviljho makes a comeback in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. It is ever-hungry and extremely aggressive, a much more powerful version of the Deviljho.

Savage Hunger Increases Its Attack Power

The Savage Deviljho is powered by its perpetual hunger and if left to feed, will deal enormous amounts of physical damage that can easily bring down any Hunter.

Preparing For Savage Deviljho

Bring Traps, Flashpods & Dung Pods

It's important to keep the Savage Deviljho away from its prey so make sure to bring traps, Flashpods, or Dungpods to keep it immobile or to chase any large monster away from its peripherals.

Bring Nulberries & Adamant Seeds

The Savage Deviljho is able to inflict Dragonblight & Defense Down so make sure to bring items such as Nulberries & Adamant Seeds to instantly remove these debuffs.

Aim For the Savage Deviljho's Head

Aim For the Savage Deviljho

The Savage Deviljho has a weak spot for its head so hitting it there can do incredible damage and/or stun it if you have the right skills equipped.

Keep Savage Deviljho From Eating

Aside from dealing damage to its body, it's important to stop the Savage Deviljho from hunting other monsters or eating. This will keep its raw attack power to a minimum so that its hits won't hurt as bad.

Savage Deviljho - Moves & Counters

Dragon Breath Spews a Dragon elemental breath that can inflict Dragonblight. Stays in the field for a few seconds.
Jump Attack Jumps towards you to attack you. Dodge out of the way to keep safe.
Tail Spin Spins twice, using its tail to hit you. Has a wide hit box so roll backwards when it does this move.
Head Smash Smashes its head into the ground several times to attack you. Roll to the side to avoid getting bitten.
Ground Stomp Stomps its legs onto the ground, causing tremors and damage. Move away from its feet to keep from getting stomped on.

 Dragon Breath Lingers In The Field

The Savage Deviljho's dragon breath will linger in the field for a few seconds which can inflict Dragonblight if touched. Make sure to move out of the way when it does its dragon breath attacks.

Vulnerable To Status Effects

The Savage Deviljho is vulnerable to different status effects so make full use of these. Bring Sleep or Paralysis Knives, Flashpods, and traps to keep it still long enough for you to deal enough damage.
