Savage Deviljho Overview
A returning subspecies monster, the Savage Deviljho makes a comeback in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. It is ever-hungry and extremely aggressive, a much more powerful version of the Deviljho.
Savage Hunger Increases Its Attack Power
The Savage Deviljho is powered by its perpetual hunger and if left to feed, will deal enormous amounts of physical damage that can easily bring down any Hunter.
Preparing For Savage Deviljho
Bring Traps, Flashpods & Dung Pods
It's important to keep the Savage Deviljho away from its prey so make sure to bring traps, Flashpods, or Dungpods to keep it immobile or to chase any large monster away from its peripherals.
Bring Nulberries & Adamant Seeds
The Savage Deviljho is able to inflict Dragonblight & Defense Down so make sure to bring items such as Nulberries & Adamant Seeds to instantly remove these debuffs.
Aim For Savage Deviljho's Head

Move Behind To Avoid Dragon Breath
The Savage Deviljho expels most of its dragon breaths forward so when it rears up to do so, immediately move behind it. You'll be safe in this spot and can do damage to the monster.
Dragon Breath Lingers In The Field
The Savage Deviljho's dragon breath will linger in the field for a few seconds which can inflict Dragonblight if touched. Make sure to move out of the way when it does its dragon breath attacks.
Do Not Sling on while Dragon Breath is Still Active
It's very risky to sling on and attach to Savage Deviljho while there's an active dragon breath field around. He could easily move towards there and you won't be able to do anything but lose health.
Vulnerable To Status Effects
The Savage Deviljho is vulnerable to different status effects so make full use of these. Bring Sleep or Paralysis Knives, Flash Pods, and traps to keep it still long enough for you to deal enough damage.
