What are Melee Weapons?
Weapons That Require You To Approach the Monster
Melee weapons are all weapons in the game that require you to get close to the monster to deal damage. Despite some weapons having a longer reach, you will still need to get close enough for the monster in order to hurt it!

Features of Melee Weapons
There are several weapons in the game that specialize in melee attacks. However, since you need to get close to the monster, there is a high chance of you getting hit. Remember to read the monster's movements and dodge or block accordingly.
Things to Remember When Using Melee Weapons
Self Strengthen Your Weapons
Melee weapons each have a special gauge which allows them to deal more damage to monsters. Remember to fill up your weapon's gauges in order to deal more damage! You can also use items like the Demondrug to deal much more damage!
Remember to Dodge & Block Attacks
Getting close to deal damage to the monster will put you in the monster's range. Remember to dodge away when a monster winds up for an attack to avoid getting damaged! Alternatively, some melee weapons will also allow you to block incoming attacks!
Bring Recovery Items to Heal Up
Since avoiding all of the monster's attacks is not likely, it is best to bring some recovery items if you get hit.
Pay Attention to Weapon Sharpness
Your melee weapon will start to lose its sharpness after attacking the monster for some time. When the weapon is dull, it will start to deal less damage, making the hunt much more difficult. Always remember to sharpen your weapon before engaging the monster!
