The Elderseal is a new weapon feature in Monster Hunter World. Specifically found in weapons that deal Dragon damage, this feature can stagger and debuff an Elder Dragon when it is activated.
Lowers Rage & Special Aura
Elderseal has specific effects on the Elder Dragons in the game - namely lowering rage mode duration and dissipating the special aura around them. This makes it easier to do damage to these powerful, end-game monsters.
Has 3 Levels - Low, Average, & High
Each weapon with Elderseal has one of three levels of effectiveness - low, average, and high. This does not affect the damage you do but it does affect the probability of the Elderseal activating during the fight.

How To Boost Elderseal
Equip Weapons That Deal Dragon Damage
Weapons that have the Dragon element usually have the Elderseal feature. You can check the level of their Elderseal rate by checking the equipment info in each specific weapon.
Weapons that are forged from the Dragonbone Tree usually have the Dragon element attribute and have a level of Elderseal.
Light & Heavy Bowguns Can Equip Dragon Ammo
Bowguns do not have the Elderseal feature but are capable of equipping Dragon Ammo - a type of ammo that deals Dragon Damage and can activate Elderseal.
Use Skill: Elderseal Boost
You can boost the rate of your Elderseal by equipping the skill "Elderseal Boost". This skill increases the level of your Elderseal by one.
Throw Dragon Pods Via Slinger
Another way of triggering Elderseal is to pick up Dragon Pods dropped by these Elder Dragons. Use your Slinger and shoot these Dragon Pods towards the monster for a chance to trigger Elderseal.
