What Are Elemental Attributes?
Attributes That Determine Elemental Damage & Blights
Elemental attributes in Monster Hunter World determine the elemental damage your hunter can dish out on monsters and vice-versa. It is an important factor as hunting changes if you're aware of a monster's elemental strengths & weaknesses.

- Ice

Attributes Have Strengths & Weaknesses
There are five elemental attributes in MHW and each react differently to each other. For example, fire is weak to water, & etc. This applies to monsters with attacks that have elemental attributes, making them weak to one or immune to another.

Negate Elemental Attributes With Resistances
You can negate a specific elemental attribute by wearing armor that can negate them - these are called elemental resistances. You can check the armor's elemental resistance through the equipment info.
What Are Elemental Blights?
Monster Attacks With Elemental Attribute
You'll receive an elemental blight when you're hit by a monster attack with an elemental attribute. If you're hit by a Rathalos's fire ball, you'll receive the fireblight and its effects. If a Jyuratodus spits on you, you'll receive the waterblight, etc.

Blights Have Negative Effects On Hunters
Blights can be dangerous as they have negative effects on hunters. This can include decreasing HP, making the hunter more susceptible to stuns, and even decrease their stamina recovery speed.
Elemental Blight Types & Effects

| Waterblight | Slows down stamina gauge recovery |
| Thunderblight | Can be stunned more easily |
| Iceblight | Increases stamina consumption of actions |
| Dragonblight | Negates weapon & ammo elemental attributes |
How To Cure Elemental Blight
You can cure elemental blights by consuming a Nulberry while hunting or placing down a Cleanser Booster in the field. Blights can also be cured over time or via a Hunting Horn's negate blight song. Wearing the coinciding Mantle will also negate blight effects.
Dodge-Rolling Can Cure Several Blights
Dodge-rolling can cure several blights such as fireblight and thunderblight. This is useful when you don't have the items mentioned above to cure these specific blights.
