What Is The Lynian Observatory
Observe & Record Lynians To Get Rewards
A new feature in MHW: Iceborne, the Lynian Observatory gives you rewards in exchange for footage of Lynians in the wild. If you record and observe Lynians according to specific conditions, you can get trade-in items, prints, & armor spheres!
Red Paw Mark Indicates Correct Observation
When you see a red paw symbol, it means you're doing the recording right. You can use the observation log to check for hints on getting the recording correctly.
Report To Lynian Researcher To Receive Rewards
When you're able to correctly record an observation, talk to the Lynian Researcher to receive rewards. You can check your observation log in the Hunter Notes.
How To Get The Surveyor Set
Receive From Lynian Researcher After Fighting Banbaro
After you complete your 2nd expedition in Hoarfrost Reach, talk to the Lynian Researcher outside the Field Team Leader's Council Table. He'll give you the Surveyor Set and a tutorial on how to use it.
Press L1 + Options To Activate Surveyor
To activate the Surveyor Set, you need to press L1 + Options. You can also assign it to your Radial Menu for easy use when you're in the field.
