Boost Your Stats with Meals From The Canteen

Make sure to eat a meal from the canteen before you leave for the hunt. This boosts your stats, including HP & stamina, as well as some of your Palico's stats. This is valuable especially for tougher hunts!

Prepare Your Loadout

Make sure to carry weapons, armor & items that best fit the hunt you will undertake. Certain weapons and items have stats that work well against specific monsters.

Look For Tracks To Aid Your Search

Make sure to look out for tracks to help you find the monster you are hunting.

Don't Immediately Engage The Monster

Don

Certain monsters can be asleep, or walking around when you find them, and may not immediately attack you. Use this time to prepare or use items before you engage.

Observe The Monster's Moves & Attacks

Observe The Monster

Each monster has a unique set of moves & attacks, and this is key to a successful hunt. Being able to determine their moves will allow you to dodge at the right time, and know when to attack!

Find Opportunities To Attack

Find Opportunities To Attack

Time your attacks well and deal damage to the monster. After dealing enough damage, or when you break a specific part, they can fall over and give you an opportunity to deal large damage! You can also use Flashbugs or other items to weaken them.

Look For Environmental Traps

Watch out for environmental traps you can use against monsters. These can cause them to fall over, and give you opportunities to attack as well!

Check If They Are Limping & Follow

Check If They Are Limping & Follow

Once they are weak enough, monsters will start limping and rest in a specific area of the map. Follow them to this area and let them rest. Set up bombs before you attack them for maximum damage!
