What Is The Clutch Claw?
New Slinger Action Introduced In Iceborne
The Clutch Claw is a new type of Slinger action that all Hunters can use across all weapons. This is a new feature that can be used in Iceborne, even if you haven't completed the main story of Monster Hunter World.

Use Clutch Claw To Grab Onto Monsters
You can fire the Clutch Claw the same way as you do Slinger Ammo but instead you'll grab onto the monster with the claw. Grabbing onto a monster consumes staming but you can do special Clutch Claw attacks or steer mounted monsters.
How To Use & What You Can Do
Do Clutch Claw Attacks That Soften Monster Hide
When you grab onto a monster, you can unleash special Clutch Claw attacks that soften that monster's hide for a few moments. Hitting that spot will deal extra damage and is useful in breaking monster parts.

Fire All Slinger Ammo To Send Monsters Reeling
When you grab onto the monster's head and unleash your Slinger Ammo in a Slinger Burst move, you send the monster reeling. This will send them off towards the direction that they're facing.

When you've grabbed onto a monster's head, you can use your Clutch Claw attack to change the direction of where the monster is facing. This is useful if you want to send them into a wall. But take note that enraged monsters can't be steered.
Send Monsters To Slam Into Wall
When you fire your Slinger Ammo while grabbing onto a monster, make sure to send them into a wall. This will cause them to topple over, even break tough monster parts, leaving them open for attack.
