New Palico Gadgets In Iceborne!
Summon Decoys With Shieldspire Stooge
In MHW: Iceborne, players can equip their Palico with the Shieldspire Stooge. This plants a decoy in the field, drawing the monster's aggression towards the fake enemy and letting you land a few hits while it is distracted.
Meowcano Shoots Fire Bombs Everywhere
When your Palico uses the Meowcano, it'll shoot fire bombs around itself from a large cannon, raining damage on any monsters in the vicinity of the bombs.
Keep Yourself From Fainting With Vigorwasp Save
The Vigorwasp Spray will be upgraded in Iceborne though details have yet to be confirmed. This involves your Palico being able to save you from the brink of fainting with a huge blob of Vigorwasp healing salve.
High Rank Versions of Traps & Plunderblade
Aside from new gadgets, Palicoes will also be able to equip High Rank versions of the Flashfly Cage & Plunderblade, making them more effective when hunting Master Rank monsters.

The higher your Palico's proficiency with the Coral Orchestra, the more buffs & stat boosts they'll apply when played. It's best to level up their proficiency to help you in greatly in hunts.
Flashfly Cage Is Useful In Immobilizing Monsters
Another useful Palico Gadget, the Flashfly Cage is effective in immobilizing monster whether you want to trap them or unleash a well-built combo.
Traps Become More Ineffective When Used Often
Even though the Flashfly Cage is very useful, take note that traps have diminishing returns & will start to be ineffective once you use them more often. Make sure to activate the traps only when you need them most.
How To Unlock Palico Gadgets
Befriend Grimalkynes In Different Areas
The easiest way to unlock a Palico Gadget is to find the Grimalkyne Doodles and befriend them. This usually leads to a quest that you need to complete which will unlock the Palico Gadget and a Tailraider.
Go On Expeditions To Track Grimalkynes
Some Grimalkynes can only be tracked or their quest can only be completed when you're in an Expedition to their specific area. If you want to unlock a new Palico Gadget, it's best to do it on an Expedition.
Palico Gadgets Provide Advantages In Hunts
Equipping your Palico with a gadget can provide advantages in battle - healing you when you're out of potions, keeping monster aggression off of you, or even forcing monsters to drop materials you need to farm.
Palico Gadgets Can Only Be Used With Palicoes
Palicoes are the only ones who can use their gadgets. When you are in multiplayer mode with 3 or more people, your Palico will be sent back to camp and you get to experience their Palico Gadgets.
