Use Flinch Shot On Face To Bring Monster Down

The Nightshade Paolumu likes to fly around often. You can bring it down by using your Slinger Burst or Flinch Shot on its face. This will disorient the monster and send it reeling into the ground, open for your attacks. This works whether its neck is inflated or not.

Flinch Shot Doesn't Work When Enraged

When the Nightshade Paolumu is enraged, hitting it with a Flinch Shot or Slinger Burst when flying around will not make it fall. So it's best to keep safe and wait until the monster has calmed down.

Ranged Weapons Are A Great Way To Damage

If you do not have an abundance of Flash Pods, another viable way to damage the monster is to use ranged weapons. Since this monster spends most of its time in the air, you will be able to hit it from any range! Don't forget to bring water ammos!
