Recommended Game Settings
Damage Indicators Should Be On
This will allow you to see and gauge how much damage you deal on a monster, as how it's meant to be played.
Leave Control Guide On By Default
With the control guide on, button prompts and control maps are always on for you to see.
Turn Vibration Off For Precision
Though this is more of a preference, you can turn off vibration to allow zero disruption and disturbance to your controls.
Recommended Camera Settings
Turn Camera Speed To Fast or Higher
This will allow you to move around the camera and focus on the monster faster. This is especially useful for fast moving monsters like Odogaron.
Turn On Aim Assist
Monster Hunter World is not traditionally a third person shooter, so playing using the bowgun weapon may feel different, and hard to wield at first. Turn on aim assist to help you aim on monsters.
Set Camera Style To Target Camera
This setting gives you full control on how the camera locks on your target. This allows you to target and face other parts of the monster even while locked on, which is beneficial for targeting specific parts of a monster.
Set Target Settings To Large Monsters Only
This will keep your camera focused only on Large Monsters. Certain areas are populated by both large and small monsters, which can disrupt your focus in case the camera locks on to a small monster.
Don't Lock On Stinger Settings
This will allow you to manually target objects with your Stinger. This is crucial for hunting monsters in environments where you can shoot traps and boulders that can stun and trap them.
Set Camera Distance To Far
This gives you the widest field of view, which gives you more information and view of the game environment.
Recommended Display Settings
Turn Off Screen Vibration
This disables the screen shake effect when hitting an enemy, or when getting hit. Turning this off will give you a clear view of the hunt all the time during the fight.
Set The Brightness That Best Fit Your Screen
Tweak the brightness settings depending on your monitor. The built-in slider helps you calibrate the monitor to best fit your display.
Turn On HDR If Screen Is Capable
If your display device is capable of displaying HDR, make sure it is turned on. This allows you to brighten up the screen without washing out the colors, and keep shadows and deep blacks dark.
Recommended Audio Settings
Set Dynamic Range To Wide Range If Capable
If you sound system or TV is capable of producing wide range of sound, turn this on as it can give you subtle hints via the low and high sound frequencies.
Set The Appropriate Output Device
Make sure to select the right output device to fit how you hear the game. If you're playing with headphones, set the output device setting to "Headphones".
Set 3D Audio On
If your audio device is capable, turn on 3D audio, as it helps give additional directional awareness through sound.
