Beotodus Overview

New Monster Found Only In Iceborne

Beotodus is a new monster that makes its debut in Monster Hunter World's Iceborne expansion. It can be found in Hoarfrost Reach and is a Piscine Wyvern that shares its territory with the Banbaro.

Can Move Freely Around Snow

Beotodus Weakness & Resistance Chart

The Beotodus can dive into the snow and move around freely when it is "underwater". This allows it to freely stalk its prey and strike when they least expect it!

Preparing For Beotodus

Bring Ice Resistant Equipment

The Beotodus is a monster that can deal the Iceblight status effect to you with its attacks. Make sure to bring along some Ice resistant skills and armor to lessen the damage or effects of the monster's ice attacks.

Has A Weakness To Fire

The Beotodus has a weakness to the fire element. Bring along some Fire element weapons in order to deal substantial damage to the monster and make the fight easier for you!

Bring Screamer Pods To Force It Out Of Hiding

The best way to fight the Beotodus is to force it out of hiding. You can use Screamer Pods to disorient it, and force it out of the snow so you can get close to hurt it!

It is recommended to focus your attacks on the Beotodus's legs. Breaking its leg fins can prevent the Beotodus from inflicting Iceblight on you.

Monster's Notable Attacks

Horn AttackThe monster will attack you using the horn on its head
BiteThe monster will attempt to bite whatever is in front of it
Tail AttackThe monster will use its tail to attack you
TackleThe monster will rush forward and attempt to tackle you
Ground Spin The Beotodus will spin around on the ground, throwing ice everywhere. Dodge away to avoid getting Iceblight.
Dive & Jump Forward Monster will backflip into the ground and then shoot forward from the ground, targeting a hunter. Roll to the side to keep from taking damage.

Use Screamer Pods when it Dives Underground

The Beotodus can be forced out of the ground by using Screamer Pods. When done effectively, this will cause it to be disoriented, giving you a huge opening for an attack.

Be Careful Of the Terrain

The Beotodus will be able to dive and move around freely where there is snow. Make sure to keep a watchful eye on the monster's whereabouts to avoid getting hit by its attacks from the snow!

Take Advantage of Turf Wars

Take Advantage of Turf Wars

There will be a Banbaro roaming the area while you are fighting the Beotodus. Make sure that if this monster shows up, take advantage of this opportunity and allow the monster to deal additional damage to the Beotodus for you!

Wear Iceproof Mantle When Targeting Head

Wear Iceproof Mantle When Targeting Head

The Beotodus will inflict ice damage with its horn attacks as it smashes down on snow and ice with its head. Be sure to have your Iceproof Mantle equipped to avoid getting Iceblight.
