Use Flash Pods To Bring Monster Down

Use Flash Pods To Bring Monster Down

The Azure Rathalos likes to keep to the skies most of the fight. To bring him down, make sure to use Flash Pods for more opportunities to attack.

Flash Pods Only Work Up To 4 Times

Unlike the Rathalos, the Azure subspecies can only be brought down by Flash Pods up to 4 times. So be sure to span out your inventory and time it properly.

The Azure Rathalos is most vulnerable when it's doing its fire breath attacks. This leaves it open for attacks, allowing you to dish out heavy damage on its HP.

Poisons When Jumping After Fire Attack

Be careful when the Azure Rathalos jumps after its fire attack, this means that it can poison whatever its feet hit when it lands on the ground.

Bring Antidotes & Herbal Medicine To Heal Poison

Make sure to bring Antidotes and Herbal Medicine in your Item Pouch when fighting the Azure Rathalos. This will keep you safe as this monster's poison damage-over-time is stronger than its normal species.

The Azure Rathalos has 3 weak parts - its head, wings, and tail. These parts can be broken while its tail can be cut off. When damaged, its black talons & claws will be broken off and its spiked tail tip can be sliced away.

Bringing Flash Pods to the battle will make sure you'll keep the Azure Rathalos close to the ground, opening it up for attacks. Antidotes and Herbal Medicines are also essential to stay safe from Poison damage-over-time.

Azure Rathalos - Moves & Counters

Bite Bites in front. Dodge to the side to avoid getting bitten.
Tail Spin Spins around and hits you with its tail. Roll away to avoid getting hit.
Ground Stomp Jumps & stomps on ground - will deal poison. Roll far away from Azure Rathalos to avoid getting poisioned.
Forward Fire Ball Sends fireball forward. Dodge to the side to avoid fireball explosion.
Aerial Fire Ball Sends fireball from the air. Dodge to the side to keep away from fireball.
Fire Attack + Poison Attack Sends out a fireball then moves forwards and stomps to poison. Roll away from ground to avoid getting poisoned.

The Azure Rathalos does both aerial and ground fire attacks. He can send fireballs from his mouth while on the ground and in the air. Follow the direction of his face to know where he is about to send the fireball, then dodge away.

When the Azure Rathalos jumps up and stomps on the ground, anything caught under its feet will get poisoned. Be sure to roll away to avoid taking damage and being inflicted with poison.

The Azure Rathalos has a very dangerous attack that can inflict you with fire and poison damage. When it rears back after a fire attack, it will charge and hit you with a poison attack. Keep watch of its moves to avoid this powerful attack.
