Changes From Past Games
1 | Descending Thrust removed |

2 | Rock Steady effect (skill) from extracts has returned |
3 | Kinsect mechanics have changed |
4 | Lost the ability to mount monsters |
5 | Tornado Slash now easier to use > Possible to animation cancel by recalling your Kinsect, so you won't fall on your back |
The Insect Glaive has unfortunately received a lot of nerfs, leaving a lot to be desired. This is one weapon that has seen a lot of its uniqueness and glory taken over by the addition of the Wirebug. Losing the ability to mount monsters and use Descending Thrust are also two big negatives for the Glaive.

Build Characteristics & Overview
The Insect Glaive is a high mobility weapon that allows you to traverse a battlefield quickly. It also has the interesting Extract system which gives it a bit of flexibility. Unfortunately the weapon seems to have taken a bit of a hit with the changes in MHR. That being said, it's still possible to dish out good damage with it, so don't despair.
