| Hard | - Pals are harder to catch, you gain less EXP, and gathering resources and incubating eggs takes longer. - The player takes more damage and deals less damage. - Upon death, all items and Pals are dropped on the spot. |

Recommended To Play On Casual Difficulty
In Palworld, there may be instances where you may die in places you cannot normally access due to glitches like falling through the floor. Since there is a risk of being unable to retrieve current items and Pal dropped as a penalty, it is recommended to play on Casual mode to avoid such situations.
You Can Also Have No Death Penalty
For a more challenging combat or game progression experience, consider using custom mode with no death penalty. Once you've set it to Custom difficulty, you can customize the damage you receive or only the death penalty option, which will ensure you a gameplay experience free from concerns about glitches causing unexpected deaths.
