Carve From Low Rank Delex

Big Fin may be obtained by carving from the low rank Delex. Delex can be found swimming in the sand in the northern regions 9 and 10 of the Sandy Plains map.
Draw Out With Sonic Bombs
Delex can usually be drawn out by dealing damage on them, but if you find you have a hard time landing hits, try using a Sonic Bomb to force the Delex out of the sand. Sonic Bombs may be crafted using Screamer Sacs obtained from Great Izuchi.

The best time to farm Big Fins is when there is an Outbreak of Delex. This info can be found on the "Locale Info" section of the Expedition Tour.
