Extreme Environment Damage
Status Effects From Extreme Temperatures
Exploring planets with extreme and harsh environments may result in environmental damage. This type of damage differs from the typical damage caused by weapons or injuries, and is indicated in orange on the gauge.
You Also Need To Look Out For Deep Freeze And Inferno
In addition to the challenging extreme environments, you also need to brace yourself for the Deep Freeze on cold planets and scorching Inferno in hot planets. These contrasting conditions require careful consideration and adequate planning to ensure survival.
Suit Integrity Failure
Being exposed to such environments will trigger the suit integrity alert, along with a pop-up notification reminding you to put on a Spacesuit, Helmet, and Pack. Your maximum health will gradually decrease the longer you remain exposed, potentially leading to death when it reaches the red zone.
Can't Build Outpost On Planets With Extreme Environments
Unless you upgrade the Planetary Habitation skill, you won't be able to build and sustain an outpost on planets with extreme environment.

Get Back Inside Your Spaceship Or Find A Safe Place
You can't use food or medicine to heal environmental damage. To restore your health, you must going inside in ships, outpost and other safe places available nearby. You can use your bed to sleep and pass some time quickly for the adverse effects to wear off.
Explore Planets At Different Times Instead
For planets like Mars with scorching daytime temperatures, consider venturing out at night to preserve your suit and prevent damage accumulation.
Equip A Spacesuit
The best way to counter these extreme environmental damage is to equip a spacesuit. These are designed to combat extreme temperatures and provide protection against Thermal Protection, Airborne Hazard, Corrosion Resistance and Radiation Shielding. This will also help you last longer in these harsh planets.
You Can Hide Spacesuits
If you prefer your regular clothes over a spacesuit but still want protection, you can hide it instead. Simply activate the Hide Spacesuit in Settlements and Hide Helmet in Breathable Areas settings found in the Spacesuits menu.
How To Fix Suit Protection Depleted
Upgrade Your Spacesuit Or Buy A New One
Your spacesuit will get damage overtime and you will need to retreat to your base or spaceship before it breaks. You can purchase a new one with better stats or upgrade your existing space suit in the Spacesuit Workbench. Upgrading your spacesuit not only saves Credits but also offers a personalized touch, as you can tailor the modifications to suit your specific needs and preferences.
