How To Fast Travel
Fast Travel Via Map
One way to fast travel is to open the map by pressing the tab key on default and by selecting StarMap. Select the location of the destination, then press "X" to fast-travel.
Fast Travel Via Scan
Another way to fast travel is from the Scan HUD. Press "F" to use the Scan HUD, look at the marker of the destination you want to go then press "E" to fast travel.

How To Quick Return To Ship
Quick Return To Ship Via Scan
You can also use the Scan HUD to get back to your ship by pointing at the Ship mark and pressing E. This will only work if you've met the fast travel prerequisites.
Quick Return To Ship Via Map
Another way to quickly return to the ship is by opening the map and selecting "My Ship". Same as quick return via Scan, you have to meet all the fast travel prerequisites.
