How To Use The Digipick

Save Before Attempting

If you make a mistake and want to cancel your move, you can use the "Undo" feature but this will consume an additional Digipick. Make sure to save before attempting to unlock it if you are low on Digipicks.

Use Keys To Fill In The Holes

lockpick example

You need to use the keys on the right to fill in the holes in the circle. In this case you have 4 keys. Choose and rotate the keys and find one that matches and fits in the holes. Fill in all the holes and that circle will disappear, then you can move on to the next inner circle.

Every Part Of The Key Must Match

Digipick Difficulties

Novice, Advanced, Expert and Master Locks

Digipick Difficulties

Locks have 4 difficulties and it will depend on your Skill level whether you can attempt to unlock it or not. Novice Locks can be unlocked from the beginning of the game, but you need the Security skill to attempt the harder ones. You need Rank 1 for Advanced, Rank 2 for Expert and Rank 3 to unlock Master Locks.

2Expert3 Auto SlotsRings turn blue when pick can be used

5 Auto SlotsExpend a key to eliminate keys that are not required

Tips For Difficult Locks

The Novice locks shouldn't be too hard, but you will need to plan ahead for the more difficult ones. Even if a key fits into a circle, it may also fit into a different spot or another circle. Although you need to unlock the outer circle first, it is best to figure out which Digipicks you will need for the inner circles before using any keys. This will prevent you from accidently using a Digipick you need for a different spot.

Use Auto Slot For Difficult Locks

Auto Slot

Use at least 1 Skill Point for the Security Skill to enable the Auto Slot feature. This will provide the correct spot for one key every time it is used. A higher Rank for the Security Skill will increase the maximum number of times you can use it. Simply solve one lock to obtain 1 Auto Slot for your next attempt.

Where To Get Digipicks

Obtain From Enemies And Surroundings

Always keep an eye out for Digipicks when you are exploring or when you defeat enemies. Since they are small and easy to miss, you can also use your scanner to highlight them.

Purchasing Digipicks

Jemison Mercantile

One of the first places you can buy Digipicks is on planet Jemison in the Alpha Centauri System. Once you land in New Atlantas, if you head left and walk straight you will see a store named "Jemison Mercantile" on the left side of the fountain.

There you can buy a Digipick for 35 Credits. They will only have a couple Digipicks but you can wait on the bench in front of the store for 24 hours, buy more and repeat.
