The Barroth will have differing elemental weaknesses depending on whether or not it has mud on its body. Make sure to check out whether it has mud on its body before engaging it maximize your damage output against the monster.

Damage Its Forelegs & Tail

The Barroth's weak spots will be its forelegs and its tail. When facing the Barroth make these the priority targets to deal the maximum amount of damage to the monster!

The arms will start to have white marks on them once they're broken
Tail
(Severable)
The tip of the tail will fall off when the part is severed

The Barroth's weak points are its forearms, and its tail. The forearms can be broken, while the tail can be severed. When broken, its arms will start to have scratches, while the tail falls off when severed.

Barroth - Moves & Counters

HeadbuttThe Barroth will rear its head, and smash it in the area in front of it. Dodge this by rolling backwards or to the side.
GoreThe Barroth will move its head down and rush forward, goring anything in front of it. It can be avoided by dodging to the side.
Mud AttackThis attack will cover the ground in mud. This will slow down hunters so it is best to steer clear of muddy areas until they disappear.
Tail AttackThe Barroth swings its tail in a sweeping motion or by slamming it on the ground. Avoid by dodging diagonally backwards.

Anticipate Attacks When Fighting In Water

Anticipate Attacks When Fighting In Water

Since you move slower when in water, anticipate the Barroth's attacks and dodge early! This will help you avoid getting damaged by the Barroth since it takes longer for you to move when in water!

Stay Away From Piles of Mud

Stay Away From Piles Of Mud

As you fight the Barroth, it will occasionally create piles of mud around it. Avoid getting too close to these mud piles as these will trap you and hinder your movement, making you an easier target for the Barroth!

Puddles of Mud Disappear Over Time

Since the puddles of mud disappear after a certain amount of time has passed, try to wait until the mud disappears before you get close and attack the Barroth again!
