Counter Monster's Water Attacks
The Waterproof Mantle reduces the damage taken from water elemental attacks such as Jyuratodos. Increase your chances of survivability by equipping this beforehand when undertaking quests against water monsters
Even the Odds in Deep Water Areas
Water element monsters such as Jyuratados are often fought around areas of deep water. Wading through deep water increases the vulnerability of hunters as dodging is slower. This disadvantage can be countered with the Waterproof Mantle.
Mad Against Muck
Jyuratados and Barroth both have attacks that greatly reduces the hunter's movement by slinging mud across the field. A good way of countering this is by simply equipping the Waterproof Mantle, ensuring immunity against these muck attacks.
