Having several places to fast travel makes it efficient to hunt monsters. Many of the monsters go back to their nest when they are dying so you can easily chase them with fast travel.
Fast travel makes not only hunting but also gathering easier. Be sure to unlock camps before Delivery Quests since it will be timeconsuming to conduct them without fast travel.
