How To Customize Your Character
Character Creation Happens When You Start The Game
Players can create then customize their character before heading into the world of Monster Hunter World! You can change a lot of aspects about your character, from gender, facial structure, and even the voice.
Step 1: Choose A Gender
The first option you'll get is choosing your hunter's gender - either male or female. You can also change the background of the customization screen to see how different scenarios affect the looks of your hunter.
Step 2: Select A Face Preset
After choosing your character's gender, you can customize their appearance by choosing a preset face.
Step 3: Fine Tune Your Character's Appearance
You can then fine tune your hunter's appearance and choose from a wide variety of customization options, down to the colors, size & types of various facial parts.

Step 4: Enter Your Hunter's Name
After confirming your created character, enter your desired name for the character. Once entered, you can no longer change this after starting the game.
How To Customize Your Palico
Palico Creation Happens After Creating Your Hunter
After creating your hunter, you'll now be prompted to create your Palico. On single-player and 2-player hunts, your Palico will assist you in battle.
Step 1: Select A Preset Palico
As with the character creation, you can choose from a variety of preset Palico appearances. Choose one to serve as your base look.
Step 2: Fine Tune Your Palico Appearance
You can then choose and tweak a huge variety of options on your Palico and fine tune them to your liking, including the fur thickness, color, voice and more!

Step 3: Enter Your Palico's Name
Once you've completed the Palico creation, you'll be prompted to name your Palico. Note that all aspects of your Palico and its name can no longer be changed after creation.
What Can Be Customized After Creation
Important! Hunter Name & Palico Cannot Be Changed
Once you've created your character and started the game, you can no longer change your hunter's name, how your Palico looks and your Palico's name. These are permanent and cannot be changed.
Cosmetic Aspects Can Be Changed After Creation
You can head over to your Hunter's quarters to adjust and change the hairstyle, makeup, eyebrows, clothing and facial hair of your character.
Some Options Require A Hunter's Grooming Ticket To Change
Some options will be locked in after confirming your created hunter such as your gender, and face. This requires a Hunter's Grooming Ticket which is bought as an add-on from your platform's store.
