Positioning - Fight Great Jagras from its Sides
Most attacks from Great Jagras is frontal. Avoid its front and fight Great Jagras from it's sides.
Focus Fire on its head, forelegs, and chest
Great Jagras's head, forelegs, and chest is its weak points, all within striking range if you position yourself on its sides. It is also possible to hit multiple weak spots with wide reaching attacks, so use that to your advantage.
Push the Attack When Great Jagras is Fed
While Great Jagras gets increased damage when it is fed(bloated belly), its weak point(chest) also bloats up, allowing for easier targeting.
Great Monster To Practice New Weapons
The Great Jagras is a recommended monster to fight when practicing and using new weapons. It provides a big target and its moves are mostly predictable, providing an easy training dummy for you to work on.

Body Roll gains potency when Great Jagras is Fed
Great Jagras's Body Roll gets increased damage and wider area when it is fed(bloated belly). Keep attacking the belly to force Great Jagras to spit out the prey, thus weakening it if this attack is giving you trouble.
