Exterior Ascending - Season 5 Mechanic
Scale Tall Buildings
Exterior Ascension is a new mechanic that allows players to climb up tall structures on the map. This gives players new maneuverability by adding verticality when playing inside the large map.
Introduced In Season 5
This new mechanic will make its debut as soon as Season 5 goes live. It was shown in both the Season 5 trailer and roadmap in the official Activision Blog post.

Gain The Height Advantage
Quickly scaling tall buildings will instantly give you the height advantage in battle. Having a higher vantage point, will make it easier for you to spot and shoot at enemies.
Quickly Reposition Yourself
Using exterior ascenders will allow you to quickly change your position when in a heated firefight!
Flank Unsuspecting Enemies
You may find unsuspecting enemies perched on top of tall buildings as well. You can use the ascenders to flank enemies since they will be busy looking at the usual entry points that would compromise their positions.
